Ordered by what moves the needle most, not by category. Anything that costs credits says so.
Three of these are free and mine, so they will be done whether or not you reply. Three need a yes from you. Two only you can do, because our Pinterest key can read but cannot write.
Every number below was pulled from the Pinterest and Tailwind APIs when this page was built, and stamped with the time it was read. Stale documents have cost us whole evenings, so the page generates itself.
This was checked properly tonight rather than assumed, because several "it cannot be done" conclusions today turned out to be wrong.
creditCost, and reading its definition it is the cost of one image generation, not a remaining balance._tw_live_2026-08-07.py and read the spec, not guess.patch appears 0 times in the specification and no endpoint offers the PATCH method. A scheduled pin genuinely cannot be edited. Changing one means delete and recreate, which costs two credits and refunds nothing. That is the whole reason copy gets approved before anything is made.Read live from the Pinterest API at 7 Aug 2026, 10:36 PM ET. Tailwind read at 7 Aug 2026, 10:36 PM ET.
One number carries the whole thing: how many people leave Pinterest and land on our shop, for every thousand times a pin is seen.

Pinterest is a search engine that looks like a scrapbook. Somebody types libra necklace, sees a picture, saves it, and comes back weeks later to buy. Our job is to have the right picture already sitting on the right shelf when they search.
Everything below is measured, not guessed. Where a number has not been read, it says so instead of filling in a guess.
Last 30 days to 7 August, read live from Pinterest tonight. Each bar is drawn to scale against the one above it.

The striped part is the run-up, when the pins should already be live and collecting saves. The solid part is the season itself. The red line is today.
The 45 day figure is our own convention, not a Pinterest rule. Pinterest has never published a lead time claim of any kind. What is evidenced is the demand curve, not the lead time. Kept because leading Libra now is clearly right, but it should stop being quoted as though Pinterest said it.
One square is one product. Gold means somebody wrote a pin for it. Pale means nobody has.
The grid above is what is scheduled. This one is what has already been published by hand, read from Pinterest just now. They answer different questions and both are worth looking at.
Read live from the Pinterest API at 7 Aug 2026, 10:36 PM ET.
One credit buys one scheduled pin on one board. The credit is charged when the pin is created, not when it publishes, and deleting a pin refunds nothing. That is why nothing gets made until the words are approved.
Last period all 400 were spent and roughly 317 of them went on pins that were then deleted, which recovered nothing. That single mechanic is the reason this plan exists.
The bar is searches per competing seller. Long bar means lots of people looking and few shops answering. That is where a new shop can actually be found.
Where these came from, and what is shaky. soundwave 702 / 50 and inital 1,378 / 836 are confirmed in the master sheet and in the heartbeat research, 23 June and 7 Aug. The 11 keywords with real volume and zero competitors, 8 of them initial necklaces, reproduce exactly off the master sheet. ekg is the one to correct: 707 is the cached June figure, the live 7 Aug read is 803. Competition 374 is right either way. eRank returns byte identical figures for ekg necklace and custom heartbeat necklace, so it is modelling that family rather than measuring it. And soundwave at 14.0 is the best ratio in the heartbeat research but the third best in the full bank, behind mini penny necklace at 52.2 and regina george initial necklace at 39.0. The "two home runs" on rings could not be reproduced under our own locked home run definition of 500 plus searches, under 3,000 competition, KD 20 or under.
She is the market leader in this exact category. Each line says where it came from and how strong the evidence is.
Named rather than decided, so nobody builds on sand.
How to read the badges. T1 Pinterest's own documentation. T2 a credible outside study or a real measurement of ours. T3 observed on one shop, or blog folklore. Nothing here is treated as a rule just because it is repeated a lot.
Decisions Kayla has already made. They are here so a future session reads them instead of raising them again.
If something here genuinely needs to change, it changes because Kayla says so, not because a new session has a fresh opinion about it.

The score is ours, recomputed tonight straight from the live queue using the weights in the Pin rubric tab. It runs 78 to 100, mean 89.3, and it places the same six pins at the bottom as the 7 August audit did. That audit published a mean of 91.4 on a slightly gentler scale; the ranking agrees, the absolute numbers sit about two points lower here. Nothing on this page was written to Pinterest, Tailwind, Shopify or the theme, and no credit was spent.
I said 89 drafts. It is 18. Verified live tonight: ?status=draft returns 18, and the 77 are already queued. My "89 pre-built posts" came from a plan file on disk, not from Tailwind. You were right to overrule the scrap recommendation — the 77 are paid for, and deleting them burns money you have already spent.
And the top item is now free. Every repeated destination in the queue is scheduled too tightly. Fixing that costs nothing and it outranks everything that costs a credit.
| Product | Times used | Tightest gap |
|---|---|---|
| initial necklace | 10 | 4.5 hours |
| heartbeat necklace | 9 | 4.5 hours |
| libra zodiac coin | 7 | 4.5 hours |
| scorpio zodiac coin | 6 | 4.5 hours |
| virgo zodiac coin | 6 | 4.5 hours |
| engraved heart cutout name | 3 | 9.5 hours |
| libra zodiac ring | 3 | 28.5 hours |
| + 7 more at 33 to 38 hours | 2 each | under 7 days |
14 of 14, not 14 of 21. Every repeated URL in the queue is too tight. Five products are hitting the same landing page four and a half hours apart, which suppresses reach on pins whose credits are already spent.
Fix: respread the 77 across the existing window so no destination repeats inside 7 days. Zero credits. This is a reschedule, not a rebuild.
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Drafts held in Tailwind | 18 |
| Distinct images across them | 18 of 18 |
| Distinct titles | 7 of 18 |
| Distinct descriptions | 7 of 18 |
| Therefore usable exactly as they stand | 7 |
| Needing only new copy | 11 |
No draft needs new artwork. All 18 carry unique art. Eleven repeat a sibling's title and description word for word — three "Dog Mom Necklace | Hidden Message Paw Print Bar", three "Cat Mom Necklace", three "Dog Memorial Necklace | Soul Dog Engraved Pendant", and pairs on the zodiac, birth flower, cat paw and pet name collection pins.
That is typing, not design. Drafts are free to hold and credits are consumed only at scheduling, so holding them has cost nothing and rewriting them costs nothing either.
Plan: rewrite 11 titles and descriptions, then schedule all 18. Cost: 18 credits, spent on work already done rather than on new production.
Five of the 18 point at collection pages rather than products — zodiac, birth flower, cat paw, pet name. Collection URLs cannot be product-tagged, so those five will not render a price or a Visit button. Either accept that for the five, or re-point them at a product. My recommendation: re-point four of them to their best-selling product and keep one collection pin as a deliberate browse pin.
SmartSchedule offers 35 slots a week, roughly 150 pins a month. Every pin in our queue goes to exactly one board and we use zero board lists. So even a flawless month reaches about 150 of the allowance. Board lists and interval scheduling are the lever that makes the full allowance spendable without padding — one pin saved to three genuinely relevant boards, same day, is three credits and one creative.
And the allowance number itself is now in doubt. The audit refers to a 300-credit scheduling allowance. Our files say 400 credits a month. Tailwind plans commonly split scheduled posts from AI credits, and one of our own docs carries a table with exactly those two columns — so "400" may well be 300 scheduled posts plus 100 AI credits.
I am not going to silently pick one. If it is 300, the monthly plan is 300 and the earlier 395 target is wrong. One look at the Billing page settles it, and it is the same look that answers whether your purchased credits expire on the 25th.
Each link opens the actual image. My recommendation is beside each one. I have deleted nothing.
The three worth six credits are the ones that read as a different brand's asset in a feed — a printed card or an instruction graphic. The five feature strips and dimension callouts are ugly in a feed but honest, and they roll out of the queue by early September anyway.
On the Q4 product roadmap, out of the August Pinterest plan. Its numbers stay on record: 1,083 searches, 2,588 competitors, difficulty 19.
Birth flowers stay, led by flower names. Under-20 volume is acceptable where competition is genuinely low.
The rings stay zodiac. I proposed renaming them to "engraved signet ring" on keyword grounds, and that was wrong for a reason keyword data cannot see: the square carries the glyph and the heart carries the sign name. They are zodiac rings. Calling them generic signet rings to chase a keyword would be describing the product inaccurately, which is the same class of error as calling stainless "silver".
The resolution that honours both: anchor to zodiac and lead with the per-sign ring phrasing — "Libra Ring", "Scorpio Ring" — rather than the generic term or the dead zodiac signet ring. The sheet shows per-sign ring terms at under-20 volume against as few as 51 competitors, which under your own rule is a buy. Zodiac stays, the dead phrasing goes, and the product description stays true.
Google Sheet for review, exported to CSV for import. That is your instinct and it is correct, for a reason worth stating: =IMAGE() renders the actual pin image in a cell, you read on your phone, and the picture is the pin. A CSV cannot show you the picture, so reviewing in CSV means approving copy while blind to the creative — which is how eight overlay images got through.
Is there anything better? I checked three alternatives and no.
| Option | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Sheet → CSV export | Recommended. Thumbnails, phone-readable, you can edit copy in place, and it produces the exact file Tailwind ingests |
| A hosted approval page like this one | Prettier, but you cannot edit copy in it. Wrong tool — you need to change words, not just approve them |
| Tailwind's own drafts | Rejected. Reviewing inside Tailwind means the pin already exists. Drafts are free, but it puts the artefact before the approval and invites exactly the create-first habit we are removing |
| CSV alone | Rejected. No thumbnails. Blind approval of the one thing that matters most |
One caveat I will handle: =IMAGE() needs a publicly reachable URL. Shopify CDN images work. Cloudinary videos will not render a thumbnail, so video rows get a still frame alongside the link.
Batch 1 is built and waiting for you. 77 rows, 77 credits, nothing created.
File: TAILWIND-IMPORT-BATCH1-2026-08-08.csv in the Ops folder. One row per pin per board, so the row count IS the credit count and the spend is visible at a glance.
What it does: fixes the inverted season. Every row is Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius or Capricorn — the five in-season signs, whose heart bars had zero pins. 9 products, 6 boards, spread over 9 to 15 August at four pins a day.
Matched to tailwind_pin_import_template.csv exactly: Pin_Title, Pin_Description, Website_Link, Media_URL, Board_ID, Alt_Text, Simplified_Pin, Scheduled_Time, Locked, Product_Tag_IDs, AI_Generated.
Then nine review-only columns for you, prefixed REVIEW_: media type, target keyword, its searches, competition and ratio, board name, product, rubric score, and one line on why it converts. Delete the REVIEW_ columns before importing. I am not relying on Tailwind ignoring unknown columns.
Two things I checked rather than assumed. Board IDs take the b_ prefix — Tailwind's own spec says a leading b_ is "accepted and stripped". And our previously successful import on 6 August used a different, 7-column header set, which also worked but carried no Product_Tag_IDs — which is why those pins were not shoppable and the current ones are. Batch 1 uses the 11-column template so tagging survives the import.
Draft the CSV → you read and edit it → you approve → delete the REVIEW_ columns → import → verify. No credit is spent on anything you have not seen. Batches 2 to 4 are built the same way, after you approve batch 1.
| Listing videos | Cloudinary UGC | |
|---|---|---|
| Count | 84, rated in the Video Audit tab | 44 ours, plus 4 Cloudinary stock samples that are not |
| Shape | 1080×1080, 1:1 | 17 at 720×1280 (9:16), rest 960 or 1440 square |
| Length | 5.33s, every single one | 6.04s try-ons; two shop montages at 12.5 and 13.5s |
| Quality | mean 7.8; 68 rated 8 or above | not rated in the sheet |
| Where | attached to Shopify and Etsy listings | largely unused |
By family, the listing videos: birth flower 24 · signet ring 24 · zodiac coin 13 · zodiac heart bar 12 · pet and paw 8 · initial 1 · heartbeat 1.
The finding that matters: the two families I under-weighted earlier — signet rings and birth flowers — already have 24 finished videos each, sitting unused. 48 clips made and paid for, pointed at products carrying one pin between them.
From Tailwind's live API spec: mediaUrl "can be any publicly accessible URL — external media is automatically uploaded and processed", so Cloudinary URLs are fine. And mediaType — "Set to 'video' for video files (.mp4, .mov, .qt). Defaults to 'image' if omitted."
But the CSV template has no media-type column. There is no documented way to declare video in the CSV, and the API defaults to image when the field is absent. So a CSV row pointing at an .mp4 either gets sniffed by extension or gets treated as an image and fails. Unverified either way.
Recommendation: import the 69 static rows by CSV, and create the 8 video rows through the API, which has an explicit mediaType: video field and takes the Cloudinary URL directly. Same batch, same approval, two lanes. Or, if you would rather keep everything in one lane, spend one credit on a single CSV video row as a deliberate test first. Your call — I would take the API route, because it is documented and the test costs a credit to learn something the spec already tells us about the other path.
| Claim | Tier | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| "Images and videos are both shared evenly on Pinterest" | Tier 1 | Pinterest's own words. Format is never named in its list of distribution drivers |
| Format-to-goal map: engagement → video, sales → product tags, traffic → outbound link | Tier 1 | Video is mapped to engagement, not to sales or traffic |
| Advertisers using 2+ video formats saw 1.4× awareness lift | Tier 2 | Ads only. Not organic, and not our situation |
| "The algorithm favours motion" | Tier 3 | Folklore, and it is written in one of our own older planning docs. Directly contradicted by row one |
| "60 to 70% of pins should be vertical video" | Tier 3 | Folklore. Same articles recommend Idea Pins, which no longer exist organically |
So I am not going to tell you video wins. The honest case for using it is different and still good: we already own 128 clips, they cost real money, and using them is free. Pinterest maps video to engagement, saves are engagement, and saves are how a pin keeps working for months. That is a reasonable bet, not a proven one.
Recommendation: 20% of the month as video, about 80 of 400 credits. Not 60%. If saves per 1,000 impressions on video rows beat static at the monthly stop, raise it. Batch 1 sits at 10% (8 of 77) because only five signs have a matching 9:16 clip.
Pinterest recommends 9:16 at 1080×1920 and 15 to 60 seconds for organic video. Ours are 720×1280 — right ratio, half the recommended resolution — and 5.3 to 6 seconds, which clears the 4-second floor but sits far below the recommended range. Our own notes already flagged the resolution gap and parked the regeneration on OpenRouter credit.
They are usable. They are not to spec. Worth knowing before we conclude anything from how they perform.
| # | Product | Why it is first |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Heartbeat necklace | One video exists, none in Cloudinary, and it is the daily lead at 901 searches against 961 competitors. The best ratio in the catalogue has the thinnest footage. Needs 4 to 5 clips |
| 2 | Lily of the valley, marigold, daffodil | Ratios of 1.289, 0.975 and 0.870. Listing videos exist at 1:1 but no 9:16 try-on for any of them |
| 3 | Initial necklace | 7,576 searches, one video. Largest validated term we own |
| 4 | Signet rings, initial framing | 24 clips already exist. Needs no new footage — needs pins |
| 5 | Paw print necklace | 345 against 987, upgraded tonight. 8 clips exist already |
Note what is not on this list: the twelve zodiac coins. They have 13 listing videos and 17 Cloudinary try-ons between them, which is already the best-covered family we have. More zodiac footage would be the easiest thing to make and the least useful.
You attached a condition — that it improves sales and conversions — and we cannot currently demonstrate that for any credit we spend. The baseline is 4 outbound clicks a month. At that volume a 50% change needs roughly 52 clicks per side to detect, which is about thirteen months per side. Nothing we buy this month will be measurable this month.
And the binding constraint is not credits. We do not yet have enough original assets to spend 400 well. Recommending you spend more to schedule more of the same images is precisely the failure that burned 194 pins last cycle.
Revisit the extra 100 when both of these are true:
Both conditions, not either. If we hit the second without the first, the answer is still no, because it would mean the catalogue is doing the work and more manual pins is not the lever.
The catalogue lane produces roughly 4,760 of 5,275 impressions, costs nothing, and has unfixed faults: descriptions truncating at 800 characters mid-word on 213 of 261 items, and free shipping absent from all of them. Fixing that is free, it touches roughly 2,844 pins rather than 100, and it is almost certainly worth more than an extra 100 credits.
Spend the free thing first. If the catalogue is fixed and the September readout still shows clicks stuck at 4, more credits was never the answer.
I judged birth flowers on "march birth flower" and never checked "daffodil necklace". One is under 20 searches. The other is 591 searches against 679 competitors. The category was never dead — my phrasing was.
Read straight from 01 MASTER tonight: lily of the valley necklace 1,231 searches against 955 competitors. More people search it than there are listings competing for it. That is the strongest ratio in the entire catalogue and I had it filed under "leave uncovered permanently."
Never conclude a product family has no demand from one phrasing. Before writing anything off, check all four:
And read the numbers per product from 01 MASTER, never pattern-generated and never from a derived summary. Ignore Unknown volume entirely. Under-20 volume is acceptable when competition is genuinely low or nothing better exists. Every figure is an average month.
| Family | The phrasing I judged it on | The phrasing with the demand |

| Signet rings, 24 products | zodiac signet ring — under 20, comp 1,085 | initial signet ring — 1,083, comp 2,588 |
| Birth flowers, 24 products | march birth flower — under 20, comp 3,594 | daffodil necklace — 591, comp 679 |
Both times the wrong phrase was the one our own listing titles happened to lead with. That is the tell: the phrase we already use is not evidence that it is the phrase that sells.
Every figure below read from 01 MASTER on 2026-08-08. Ratio is searches divided by competitors — higher is better, and anything near or above 0.5 is exceptional.
| Month | Lead keyword | Searches | Comp | Ratio | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| May | lily of the valley necklace | 1,231 | 955 | 1.289 | Best in catalogue |

lily of the valley jewelry 593 against 3,542 · gold lily necklace 243 against 1,539 · tiny lily pendant under 20 against 71 · narcissus charm under 20 against 83 · gladiolus charm under 20 against 117 · larkspur charm under 20 against 105.
Note the charm forms have some of the lowest competition in the whole bank. Usable in product titles, where "charm" is an approved exception — not in pin copy or board names, where it stays banned.
Lead with the flower, keep the month as the secondary tag. It costs nothing and catches both.
Before: March Birth Flower Necklace | Daffodil Pendant
After: Daffodil Necklace | March Birth Flower Pendant for Her
Board name follows the same logic: | Birth Flower Necklace as the flagship, with sections per flower rather than per month.
| Keyword | Searches | Comp | Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| paw print necklace | 345 | 987 | 0.350 |
| custom paw necklace | 145 | 432 | 0.336 |
| dog mom necklace | 89 | 11,103 | 0.008 |
I recommended "one pin each, merchandising not search" on the strength of dog mom necklace and a derived figure of 102 searches against 7,312 competitors for paw print necklace. The sheet says 345 against 987. Pet and paw is a real search category on the object name; it is only dead on the dog mom framing. Ten products upgraded from "do not invest" to a proper lane.
constellation necklace: 803 searches against 6,062 competitors. Higher volume than any individual sign name. It is the object-name framing for a family where we have been leading with sign names and the collapsed zodiac coin necklace. Worth a board and worth carrying in coin copy.
Sign names from the sheet, all real: virgo 689 against 3,169 · libra 400 against 3,332 · capricorn 395 against 2,750 · scorpio 297 against 3,650 · sagittarius 294 against 2,759.
name necklace tarnish free: 104 searches against 168 competitors, ratio 0.619. An attribute framing, and one we can honestly claim. Nothing in our notes had ever tested a material phrasing.
The derived keyword-bank document disagrees with 01 MASTER on core numbers, and I built recommendations on the derived one.
| Keyword | Derived doc | 01 MASTER |
|---|---|---|
| paw print necklace | 102 searches, 7,312 comp, KD 93 → reject | 345 searches, 987 comp → build |
| birth flower, by month | nine months dead | flower names never tested |
01 MASTER is the source of truth — your instruction, and it is the sheet with per-product figures rather than a summary. Two corrections to how I work: read the sheet per product, and re-pull live before any figure drives real spend.
One honesty note on my own extraction: my parser produced identical numbers for zodiac necklace and zodiac coin necklace, which is almost certainly one string counted twice rather than a real finding. I am not reporting a zodiac head-term figure on that basis. It needs a direct read.
Same monthly model, same stops, no reserve. Birth flower gets a real lane instead of a Nov-Dec afterthought, and pet moves out of the token allocation.

Unique creatives still 4 a day at 2.9 boards average. Nothing about the creative ceiling changes — 748 photographs, 122 needed a month, about 5.5 months of runway. What changes is which products those pins point at, and the keywords they carry.
400 is a monthly allowance, not a lump sum. So a reserve is not caution, it is 110 credits deleted every month. The reserve is gone.
But raising the number exposes the real constraint, and it is not credits. It is how many genuinely different pictures we can put in front of people. At the honest ceiling we can spend about 365 to 400 a month from 25 August onward — and about 204, not 400, in the 17 days between now and then.
Everything below is additive. The phases, the four review stops and the create-once rule are unchanged.
Three independent reads of Tailwind's own billing screen are recorded in our files: "Bundle Monthly $44.98, 400 credits/mo", "Budget is 400/month, hard" and "Renewal is the 25th of each month." Your version matches the billing screen. The "stretch to December" framing came from my own arithmetic, not from Tailwind, and it was wrong.
I probed the Tailwind API tonight for billing, subscription, usage, credits and plan endpoints. All five return 404 — "Endpoint not found". Only /accounts and /me respond, and neither carries a balance. There is no programmatic way to read the balance, the reset date or the rollover rule. Nothing in our files states a rollover policy either way.
So the plan assumes unused credits are lost at reset. That is your statement and it is the conservative assumption anyway — if it turns out they roll over, we lose nothing by having spent them.
Our files say the previous period ended at 400 of 400 used with "next refresh is the Aug 25 renewal." You have since bought 400 more. Do those purchased credits expire on 25 August, or do they sit on top of the September allowance?
If they expire on the 25th, roughly 196 of them cannot be spent well in 17 days and we should say so rather than pad. If they carry, we spend them through September at a sane rate and nothing is lost. It is one line on the Billing page and I cannot read it.
One credit buys one pin on one board. The same pin on three boards costs three. So 400 a month is about 13 board-saves a day — which is only about 4 genuinely different pins a day once each is filed on three boards.
| Shape | Credits / day | Per month | New pictures / month | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 pin, 1 board | 13 | 400 | 400 | No. Burns the entire clean photo pool in under two months, forever |
| 4 pins, 3 relevant boards | 12 | 365 | 122 | Yes. This is the recommendation |
| 4 pins, 3 boards + 1 extra save on the day's strongest | 13 | 395 | 122 | Yes, and lands almost exactly on 400 |
| 8 pins, 3 boards | 24 | 730 | 243 | No. Over allowance and 2× Tailwind's own fresh-pin band |
122 original assets a month against roughly 673 clean unused photographs — 748 total, less about 75 that are spec cards, feature strips and dimension callouts of the kind the overlay audit found. That is about 5.5 months of genuinely fresh creative, to roughly the end of January.
After that we need new photography, not more credits. Reusing an image is not a fresh pin: Tailwind is explicit that a duplicate is an exact image and link combination, and that changing only the title or description does not make it fresh. So the pool is finite in a way the credits are not.
There are 17 days between now and the 25 August reset. At 4 unique pins a day on 3 boards that is 204 credits, not 400. To spend all 400 in 17 days we would need 7.8 unique pins a day and 23.5 board-saves a day — five to eight times Tailwind's published band for an account our size, arriving as an obvious burst two days after a 194-pin deletion.
I am not going to pad 196 credits with weak pins to hit a number. You said you would rather hear this, so: if the purchased credits expire on the 25th, we will consciously lose roughly 196 of them this once, and from 25 August we run at 395 a month with nothing wasted. If they carry over, we lose nothing at all. The billing-screen check above decides which.
A board is a legitimate destination only if its name is a phrase a buyer would type to find this exact product, and a stranger shown the board and the pin would agree the pin belongs there. If you cannot name that phrase, the save is spam and it costs more than the credit.
| Example | Why | |
|---|---|---|
| Legitimate | Libra coin pin → \| Libra Necklace, \| Zodiac Necklace, \| Zodiac Jewelry | Three phrases people actually search, and the pin honestly answers all three |
| Legitimate | Heartbeat pin → \| Heartbeat Necklace, \| Custom Heartbeat Necklace, \| Engraved Necklaces | Same product, three real searches |
| Spam | Libra coin pin → \| Pet Name Necklace or \| Birth Flower Necklace | The pin does not answer that phrase. This is burning allowance and it risks the account |
| Spam | Any pin saved to a fourth board to reach a credit target | Three is the cap. If a pin only honestly fits two boards, it gets two |
There is a live tension worth naming: Tailwind separately advises spacing multi-board saves several days apart, which is exactly what our 14-day image floor forbids. The two rules cannot both hold. We are choosing the image floor, because duplicate imagery is the thing Pinterest's own enforcement documentation describes acting on.
The catalogue work sits above the credit spend on purpose. It is free, it never runs out, and it drives roughly 4,760 of our 5,275 impressions against 21 published manual pins. Credits are approved; that does not make them the priority.
Read live on your profile: Engraved Necklaces, Meaningful Gift Ideas, Personalized Jewelry Styling, Personalized Name Jewelry. Two of them — Engraved Necklaces and Personalized Name Jewelry — already have 9 and 20 pins queued in Tailwind and will fill themselves from 8 August, which is why the Tailwind read and your read of the live profile disagree. Both are right: queued is not published. Meaningful Gift Ideas and Personalized Jewelry Styling have nothing queued at all — rename the first to \| Personalized Necklace, delete the second.
Fan-out has nowhere to go until this is done, and an empty board on a profile we are trying to make credible reads as neglect.
Which Shopify field lands in the Pinterest catalogue description, and whether additional_image_link is actually flowing. The first is answerable with a marked string and one daily ingest. If it works, our four-part formula reaches roughly 2,844 catalogue pins instead of 122 manual ones a month, for nothing. A parallel session is auditing this lane now; reconcile with them before acting.
\| Initial Necklace, \| Heartbeat Necklace, \| Custom Heartbeat Necklace, \| Engraved Signet Ring. These are the destinations the fan-out rule needs, and the ring board alone opens 23 products that have no pin.
Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn have no heart-bar pins while every out-of-season sign does. Scorpio has nothing in September.
One row per pin: thumbnail, title, description, alt text, destination link, boards, and the rubric score out of 100. Nothing is created in Tailwind until you have said yes to the copy. Last cycle 194 of 271 posts were deleted — about 71% of the allowance bought work that no longer exists — because we created first and corrected after. The create-once rule is the whole safeguard and approving the budget does not relax it.
Same eight phases, same four review stops, no reserve. Per calendar month from the 25 August reset, at 4 unique pins a day averaging 2.9 boards.
| Lane | What | Credits | Running |

The 5 left over is rounding, not a reserve. Phases 7 and 8 from the original plan — Sagittarius, Capricorn and the stethoscope build — move into the October and November cycles, where their seasons actually are. That is what a monthly model buys us: seasonal work sits in the month it belongs to instead of being crammed into one lump.
additional_image_link slots, better catalogue descriptions. Free, and it reaches ten times as many pins.Spend 290 of the 400 credits over 17 weeks, hold 110 back, and never create a pin until you have approved its words in a sheet first.
The last 400 credits bought 271 pins and 194 of them were deleted. That was not bad luck. Tailwind charges the credit the moment a pin is created, there is no way to edit a pin afterwards, and deleting one refunds nothing. So a pin with a weak title can only be fixed by paying a second credit. Writing first and creating second is the entire fix, and it costs nothing.
If you approve, the first thing built is a spreadsheet of pin copy for your review, not a pin.
| Mechanic | Consequence |
|---|---|
Tailwind has no PATCH for a scheduled post | A pin's words can never be edited after creation |
| The credit is charged at creation, not at publication | A pin you never publish still cost a credit |
| Deleting a post refunds nothing | Fixing one pin costs two credits, not one |
Proven empirically on 7 Aug: a balance of 272 produced exactly 272 successful creations despite roughly 123 deletions in between, then returned 402 insufficient_credits. Source: PINTEREST-EXECUTION-2026-08-07-EVENING.md §10.
Every pin is drafted in a review sheet with six columns — image, title, description, alt text, destination link, board — plus a rubric score out of 100. You read it on your phone, strike out what you dislike, and only then does anything get created. Draft, review, approve, create once.
Format: one Google Sheet, one row per pin, sorted by send date, with a thumbnail column. A CSV works too but the thumbnails are what let you judge it in thirty seconds.
The last sweep declared the queue clean at zero text overlay. It reached that by fingerprint-matching every image against spec-card designs it already knew about. Tonight I downloaded all 77 live queue images, built a contact sheet and looked at them. Eight carry baked-in text, including a card printing "CANCER, June 21 to July 22, Nurturing, Intuitive, Loyal" and a full "How to Personalize" graphic with an Add to Cart button drawn on it.
Fingerprint matching can only find designs somebody has already catalogued. From now on the overlay check is done by eye, on a contact sheet, and it takes two minutes. The eight are listed on the rubric page.
Her profile is built like a catalogue, not a diary. Seventeen boards, every one prefixed with a pipe character so they read as one designed system: | Rings, | Gift Guide, | Jewelry Stacking Inspo, | Bridal Jewelry Inspiration, | Find Your Style, | Hoops & Earrings, | Charm Bar. Her smallest board holds 7 pins. She keeps no empty boards at all. Her pin titles run a fixed formula, keyword first, roughly 40 to 60 characters. Her descriptions run 420 to 550 characters in four parts and end with a literal "Save this look for your next ___". No hashtags anywhere. Prices appear automatically from the catalogue rather than being typed into the copy.
The board census, pin counts and copy formulas above were read off her live profile logged-in on 6 Aug 2026, one day ago. A live re-read tonight timed out, so I have not re-verified it this evening and I am not going to pretend otherwise. Two errors in that earlier pass have already been caught and are corrected here: she does not run large serif headline pins, and susabella is a private user rather than the jewelry brand.
| Charm Bar. "Charm" is banned in our pin and board copy. It is allowed in product titles only.| Rings; we drifted into separate Virgo and Libra boards holding 6 and 7 pins. Twelve thin sign boards would be twelve near-empty boards.Live right now: 14 boards, 5 of them empty, 7 carrying queued pins. Read from the Tailwind API tonight.

The coverage matrix from the parallel session had not landed on disk when I checked, so I built it here from the live catalogue export and the live Tailwind queue rather than duplicating a wait. If theirs lands and disagrees, theirs should be reconciled against this.
All 88 products already have automatic product pins. The Shopify feed pushes 260 variants into the Pinterest catalogue every 24 hours and Pinterest builds a pin per image, roughly 2,844 of them, sitting on the Products board. That board produced 4,760 of our 5,275 impressions last period. Nothing is invisible. So "zero-pin coverage" does not mean a product is missing from Pinterest. It means we have not written a keyworded, board-filed pin for it.
| Family | Products | Pinned | Zero | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Signet rings, zodiac | 24 | 1 | 23 | The biggest hole. 27% of the catalogue, one pin. See the ring numbers below |
| Birth flower | 24 | 6 | 18 | Leave the 18. They are exactly the nine dead months, both forms |
| Zodiac coin necklace | 12 | 12 | 0 | Fully covered |
| Zodiac heart bar | 12 | 7 | 5 | Covered backwards. See below |
| Pet and paw | 10 | 1 | 9 | One pin each. Every pet keyword is KD 66–100. Merchandising, not search |
| Name, initial, heartbeat, ladybug | 6 | 6 | 0 | Covered |
I said earlier we had no ring keyword. We do — it was sitting in our cached eRank bank, and reading it cost zero live searches.
| Keyword | Searches | Etsy comp | KD | Read |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| initial signet ring | 1,083 | 2,588 | 19 | Best in the family. But we do not make one yet |
| engraved signet ring | 993 | 5,284 | 36 | The door for the 24. Winnable, and describes what they are |
| signet ring | 7,116 | 29,182 | 31 | Head term, title use only |
| zodiac ring | 295 | 11,048 | 79 | Avoid. Low demand, heavy competition |
| zodiac signet ring | <20 | 1,085 | 100 | Dead |
| astrology ring | <20 | 4,672 | 100 | Dead |
So: build the ring line on engraved signet ring, not on anything with "zodiac" in it. That single choice is the difference between KD 36 and KD 100. And initial signet ring at 1,083 searches, 2,588 competitors and KD 19 is a product we do not make and probably should — we already sell both initials and signet rings.
Source: our cached eRank bank, 2,421 keywords, re-read 7 Aug 2026. Cached rather than live, so re-pull before a board is named. Zero live eRank searches were spent.
Every prior document allocated pins to Sagittarius and Capricorn on the season clock alone, with no demand evidence of any kind. They were in the bank: Sagittarius necklace 294 searches, 2,759 competitors, KD 49. Capricorn necklace 395 searches, 2,750 competitors, KD 42. Both real, both modest, both more winnable than the zodiac head term at KD 72. Phase 5 stands.
70 of 88 covered · 18 left uncovered on purpose
If the honest answer is that 400 credits cannot cover everything, this is it: they can, and they should not. 400 credits over 88 products is 4.5 pins each. Spending 4.5 pins on july-birth-flower-necklace-heart at KD 89 buys nothing. The constraint is not credits — it is that a fifth of the catalogue sits on keywords nobody searches.
The 18 we leave: the nine dead birth-flower months in both bar and heart form. They keep their automatic catalogue pins, so they remain buyable, they just do not get a hand-written pin. Everything else gets covered, including all 23 unpinned rings once they are routed through engraved signet ring.
The full weighted standard, with sources, evidence tiers and a worked 10-out-of-10 example on a real product, is a separate page: the pin rubric →
The short version, in weight order: the destination link must resolve to the right product, the pin must be product-tagged so the price appears, the image must be a live Shopify photo at 2:3 with no text overlay, the title must lead with the keyword inside the first 40 characters, the description must run four parts and 420 to 550 characters, and the alt text must be written for this pin and no other.
400 credits is the entire allowance until the next reset. One credit creates one scheduled pin on one board. Saving the same pin to three boards costs three credits. At the planned 3.3 pins a day, 290 credits covers roughly 17 weeks, to early December.

Your clock is applied exactly as you set it: Libra now, Scorpio around 8 September, Sagittarius early October, Capricorn early November, each about 45 days ahead of season.
I traced it. It first appears in our verified-merchant playbook stated flatly, with no citation, and every later document repeats it as settled mechanism — "Pinterest rewards", "Pinterest needs". Pinterest has never published a lead-time claim. Its own discovery documentation names four levers: relevance, quality, freshness and domain reputation. Seasonality is not among them. The nearest real support is Sprout Social recommending seasonal content 45+ days ahead Tier 2, which is a credible third party's advice, not a study.
This matters because the same document set rejected the "24 to 48 hour fresh pin boost" claim on precisely these grounds — five blogs, zero primary sources — and rejected the "25 pins a day" limit as folklore. The 45-day rule has never had that scrutiny applied to it, and it is currently allocating real inventory.
What is genuinely evidenced is the demand curve underneath it: libra necklace runs at 400 average searches and spikes to roughly 2,400 in September eRank, not re-validated, and scorpio necklace peaks in September and November. Leading Libra now is right. The 45 specifically is a convention we invented. I am not proposing to change it — it is a reasonable convention and the cost of being early is low — but it should stop being quoted as a Pinterest rule.
You have custom heartbeat necklace at 803 searches, competition 154, difficulty 1, nobody tagging it. The competition and difficulty numbers are solid and they are the reason to build. The 803 is not: eRank returned pixel-identical curves for ekg necklace and custom heartbeat necklace — same 803, same 800 clicks, same 100% CTR, same shape — which means it is modelling the family from a bucket rather than measuring the term. Build on it. Do not quote the 803 as measured demand.
The real constraint on heartbeat is not credits, it is photography. One product means one destination link, and our own spacing rule forbids repeating a link inside 7 days. A daily heartbeat pin needs about five destinations. Creating a Heartbeat collection page solves it for free and needs no new product.
File read: Pinterest Predicts 2026 Marketing Playbook.pdf, 24 pages, added to the Ops folder at 18:53 tonight. It is Pinterest's own publication, so Tier 1 by source, but it is a marketing document and its statistics are Pinterest internal data with no external methodology.
sameAs on the live homepage still points at a stranger's Pinterest profile. The fix is written and not deployed.A pin is one picture with words attached and a link underneath. Think of a postcard. The picture is the front. The link is the address on the back. When somebody taps the picture, the link takes them somewhere.
A board is a folder that pins live in. Like a pinboard on a wall. Every pin sits in one folder. A folder has a name, and the name is important, because people search Pinterest the way they search Google.
Our profile is the page with all our folders on it. Ours is MemoryThatLasts1. A stranger who lands on it sees our folders first, not our pins.
This is the whole thing. Five steps, start to finish.
We have two kinds of pin and they work completely differently.
Our Shopify shop sends every product to Pinterest by itself, once a day. Pinterest turns each product photo into a pin and puts them all in one big folder called Products. We did not make these. We do not pay for these. They just happen.
And they are doing nearly all the work. Last period they brought 4,760 of our 5,275 views. So no product of ours is invisible on Pinterest. Every single one of the 88 is already there.
These we make by hand in Tailwind, one at a time. We choose the picture, write the title, write the description, choose the folder. Each one costs one credit. We have 400 credits.
They are worth making because the automatic ones all get dumped in one unsorted folder with whatever words Shopify happened to use. The ones we write go in a properly named folder with words people actually search for.
We have 14. Five are empty, which is the main thing to fix. Numbers are pins waiting in the queue right now.
An empty folder on a shop's Pinterest looks the way an empty shelf looks in a shop. The brand we are learning from, Caitlyn Minimalist, has 17 folders and her smallest holds 7 pins. She has no empty folders at all.

| Gold Coin Necklace | Fill it or delete it |
| Meaningful Gift Ideas | Rename to Personalized Necklace. Nobody searches "meaningful gift ideas" |
| Cat Mom & Dog Mom Gifts | Rename to Pet Name Necklace. Do not spend on it — the pet phrases are all fiercely competitive |
| Personalized Jewelry Styling | Delete. It is not a phrase anybody types |
Pet Memorial Jewelry is not empty but has nothing queued, and its description currently contains a discount code that should not be there.
Because folder names are searched. Pinterest says so directly: put your keywords in your pin titles, pin descriptions, board titles and board descriptions. It also says more than a quarter of the traffic it sends from search lands on a board rather than a pin.
So "Zodiac Necklace" beats "Written In The Stars", even though the second one sounds nicer. One is a thing people type. The other is a thing nobody types.
| Word | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Pin | One picture with words and a link |
| Board | A folder that pins live in |
| Credit | What one pin costs us to make in Tailwind. We have 400 |
| Tailwind | The tool we use to write pins now and have them appear later |
| Catalogue | The list of our products Shopify sends to Pinterest every day |
| Product tag | Linking a pin to a real product, so the price and a Visit button appear |
| Alt text | A written description of the picture, for people who cannot see it. Pinterest also reads it |
| Impression | Somebody's screen showed our pin |
| Outbound click | Somebody tapped through and landed on our website. The one that matters |
| Save | Somebody put our pin in their own folder to come back to |
| KD | Keyword difficulty, 1 to 100. How hard a phrase is to rank for. Lower is better. 1 is a gift |
| eRank | The tool that tells us how many people search a phrase and how many shops compete for it |
| Verified Merchant | A blue tick from Pinterest saying we are a real shop. We already have it |
Score the pin in the sheet, before it exists. Tailwind charges the credit at creation and a pin can never be edited afterwards, so the rubric has to run on the draft. Under 80, it does not get made.
Weights are not opinions. They are ordered by how badly the pin fails if that one thing is wrong. A broken link makes a perfect pin worth nothing. A slightly dull title costs a little reach.
Every pin in the approval sheet carries this block. Keyword numbers, why it converts, and what it does for the plan. Nothing else.
| Keyword | Searches | Etsy comp | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|
| libra necklace | 400 | 3,332 | 46 |
| zodiac necklace | 1,097 | 30,862 | 72 |
eRank, Etsy USA. Live pull 6 Aug, cached bank re-read 7 Aug. Not estimated.
Why it converts: the pin is product-tagged, so the price and a Visit button render without us typing them — proven on our own account this week with a matched pair of tagged and untagged pins Tier 2. Pinterest's own figure for tagged scene images is 70% higher shopping intent Tier 1, vendor marketing.
Strategic fit: Phase 1, the lead. Libra searches climb toward roughly 2,400 in September and we are publishing in August. Product already has pins, so this deepens rather than fills.
| Keyword | Searches | Etsy comp | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|
| heartbeat necklace | 901 | 961 | 1 |
| custom heartbeat necklace | 803* | 154 | 1 |
Cached eRank bank 7 Aug for the first, live pull 7 Aug for the second. *The 803 is modelled, not measured — see the honesty note below. Trust the 154 and the 1.
Why it converts: difficulty 1 out of 100 against 154 competing shops is the lowest-friction door in our entire keyword bank, and no seller is tagging the phrase. Complete and distinct metadata is Tailwind's single strongest predictor of a high-traffic pin Tier 2, and this pin has its own title, description and alt text.
Strategic fit: Phase 2, one pin a day. Aseasonal, so it runs all year. Loses 4 points because one product means one destination link, and our 7-day link-spacing rule cannot hold at a pin a day until a Heartbeat collection page exists.
| Keyword | Searches | Etsy comp | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|
| scorpio necklace | 297 | 3,650 | 54 |
Cached eRank bank, 7 Aug. Live pull 6 Aug returned 296 — the two agree.
Why it converts: it fills a genuine hole. Scorpio has nothing scheduled in September, and its demand peaks in September and November. Board relevance is a documented Pinterest distribution driver and this lands on a board named for the phrase Tier 1.
Strategic fit: Phase 1, from 8 Sep. Covers a product with zero pins today — one of the five in-season signs whose heart bar has never been pinned. Loses 8 points on difficulty 54, which is above our winnable line of 35.
Not weighted. Pass or fail, checked first, because a compliance breach on a live pin costs more than any reach it could win.

| Link returns anything but 200 on the right product | Pinterest's "no surprises" rule on destinations |
The previous sweep matched every queue image against known spec-card designs by fingerprint, found five, and declared the queue clean at zero overlay. That was wrong. Fingerprint matching only finds designs you already know about.
Tonight I built a contact sheet of all 77 live queue images and looked at them. Eight carry baked-in text.
| # | Product | What is printed on the image |
|---|---|---|
| 05 | Ladybug circle | Card reading "A little luck, to carry with you" |
| 12 | December birth flower | Card: "DECEMBER · NARCISSUS · Hope, Renewal, Good Wishes" |
| 30 | Cancer coin | Card: "CANCER · June 21 – July 22 · Nurturing, Intuitive, Loyal" |
| 48 | Initial necklace | Feature strip: hypoallergenic, durable, chain length, thickness |
| 49 | Initial necklace | Full "How to Personalize" graphic with an Add to Cart button |
| 54 | Initial necklace | "Choose Your Font Style — Romantic Script / Timeless Serif" |
| 62 | Libra coin | Dimension callout plus the feature strip |
| 69 | Heartbeat | Dimension callouts plus the feature strip |
Standing method from now on: build the contact sheet and read it. It takes two minutes and it is the only check that catches a design nobody has catalogued.
Resolves, returns 200, lands on the exact product in the picture.
Tier 1 Pinterest's guidelines forbid redirecting pins and require no surprises on destinations. Heaviest because every other point exists to produce this click. A wrong link makes the pin worth zero, not less.
Tier 2 Our own controlled test, 7 Aug: same account, same setup, the tagged Virgo pin renders $39.00 and a Visit button, the untagged Aster pin renders neither. Strongest evidence we own. Tier 1 Pinterest's 70% shopping-intent figure — vendor marketing, no method published. All 77 queued pins are tagged.
Not proven: tagging three finishes gives one price row, not a browsable carousel.
Tier 2 Our own live search, 7 Aug: zero of the top 24 organic results for "zodiac necklace" carry a text overlay. The only overlay was a paid placement. Tier 1 Pinterest applies a 4% black tint to image pins on near-white backgrounds, worth knowing before shooting on white.
Caveat: Caitlyn Minimalist uses designed collages profitably. This rule is right for our search-intent pins; it is not a law.
Tier 2 Tailwind, March 2026: "Prepare complete metadata for every Pin. Title, description, and alt text. Our data shows this is the strongest predictor of high-traffic Pins." Tier 1 Pinterest names duplicate titles, descriptions and URLs as the spam signal.
Where we stand: 45 distinct titles, 48 descriptions and 35 alt strings across 77 pins. Our largest quality gap.
Four parts, 420 to 550 characters. What it is and who for; a cluster of four or five validated keywords; how to wear or pair it; then "Save this for your next ___".
Tier 1 Pinterest: descriptions do not show in the feed but "are used by our algorithm to determine relevance for delivery". Tier 2 The four-part shape is read off Caitlyn's live pins — observation of one leader, not a study.
Keyword inside the first 40 characters, pipe separator, under 100 total.
Tier 1 100-character cap; the only published truncation figure is "prioritize the first 40 characters".
Describes the frame, not the title again. Where we stand: 18 pins in a previous queue carried the identical filler "Engraved personalized necklace from Memory That Lasts." That scores zero here.
Tier 1 2:3, 1000 by 1500. Collections heroes must be 1:1 or 2:3 and secondaries must match, or they are centre-cropped.
Tier 1 Board relevance is a named distribution driver; Pinterest instructs merchants to keyword board titles and descriptions, and reports over 25% of its search traffic lands on boards.
No image reused within 14 days. No single link above 15% of the queue. At least 12 live destinations.
Tier 2 Tailwind: "Multiple genuinely different images pointing at the same URL DO each count as fresh." Explicitly not fresh: same image with only the words changed. Tier 1 Pinterest's enforcement expands one decision to "machine-identified matching Pins" — a real hazard for near-identical jewelry shots.
Where we stand: five products hold 38 of 77 pins, 49% of the queue.
Tier 1 Pinterest states there is no limit and recommends weekly originals. Tier 2 Tailwind says 1–5 a day — and contradicts itself two days apart with 15–25. The contradiction is the honest answer, so this is weighted low. Tier 3 "25 a day is safe" is folklore, contradicted by Pinterest directly.
Tier 1 "Images and videos are both shared evenly on Pinterest." Format is never named in the distribution drivers. Organic video 15 to 60 seconds, 9:16. Tier 3 "The algorithm favours motion" appears in one of our own older plans. It is folklore and directly contradicted.
Tier 3, deliberately. Pinterest has never published a lead-time claim; its discovery framework names relevance, quality, freshness and domain reputation, and seasonality is not among them. The nearest support is Sprout Social advising 45+ days ahead Tier 2 — advice, not a study. What is evidenced is the demand curve, not the lead time. Weighted at 2 because a pin should not score highly for obeying a convention we invented.
The Libra zodiac coin necklace, $39, live, three finishes. Phase 1's lead. Nothing below has been created.
Shopify image 3: the coin on its chain, angled so the glyph catches light, warm neutral ground, product filling about two thirds of the frame. No card, no feature strip, no dimensions. Not image 62, which carries both. Not image 4, which on 10 of our 11 coins is a stainless photo whose caption claims gold.
Libra Necklace | Gold Tone Zodiac Coin Pendant for September October Birthdays
78 characters. Keyword at characters 1 to 14. No emoji, hashtag or em dash. "Gold tone", because the finish is 18K gold PVD over stainless.
A gold tone zodiac coin necklace engraved with the Libra constellation, made to wear every day. This libra necklace hangs on a dainty 18 inch chain and works as a zodiac necklace for layering, a zodiac jewelry piece for a birthday, or something you finally buy for yourself. Wear it alone or stack it with a finer chain. Save this for your September and October birthday gift list or your next zodiac jewelry stack. Ships within 2 to 5 days.
434 characters, four parts. Carries zodiac necklace (1,097), libra necklace (400) and zodiac jewelry (568), all cited. No price, no shipping cost, no hashtag.
Gold tone coin pendant engraved with the Libra scales, on a fine chain against a warm neutral background.
/products/libra-zodiac-coin-necklace-engraved-star-sign-pendant plus a campaign tag carrying family, format, day and a slot index.
The slot index is new: our current tags collide when four pins of one family go out on a day, so we cannot tell which creative earned a click. Verified live tonight — 200, $39, "Ships within 2 to 5 days", no supplier exposure, stainless never called silver.
All three finishes tagged, price renders. Goes to | Libra Necklace. Image used once in the queue, absent from the prior 14 days. Libra stays under 15% of the queue. One of three or four pins that day. Static. Published in August against a season opening 23 September.
Our pin copy already matches Caitlyn Minimalist. The gap is not craft — it is shelving, coverage and order.
Our 77 live pins average 458 characters of description. Every single one lands inside her 420–550 band. Our titles average 57 characters; hers run 40–60. We arrived at her formula and it works.
What separates us is that she has 17 named shelves and no empty ones, and we have 14 shelves of which 5 are empty; she writes each pin once and we repeat ourselves 32 times out of 77; and our season is running backwards.
Our figures computed from the live Tailwind queue on 7 Aug 2026. Hers read from her live profile logged-in on 6 Aug 2026 and not re-verified tonight — a live re-read timed out. Her board count and the "no empty boards" observation are from that pass.
Three separate documents in our folder recommend rewriting pin descriptions to be longer and to follow the four-part shape. That work is done. Every one of the 77 live pins is in the band. Any future session proposing a "description length fix" is solving a solved problem and would spend credits doing it.
Two places that survive scrutiny, one that is available but unearned, and two that I am not going to dress up as advantages.
Her site was read live on 2026-08-08 for this section. Techniques we are adopting keep their source and tier. Anything we invented is labelled our own hypothesis with a way to test it.
| Us | Her | |
|---|---|---|
| Followers | 1 | 12,400 |
| Monthly views | 5,019 | 10,000,000+ |
| Reviews on one product | 0 | 470 |
| Etsy shop reviews | 0 | — |
That is roughly 2,000 times the monthly views. She also sells the ring I looked at for $24.50 against our $39. Reach, social proof and price are all hers, and pretending otherwise would be the kind of flattering strategy you have told me you do not want.
What follows are structural advantages, not reach advantages. They are things a narrow catalogue can do that a broad one cannot.
Shop All · Best Sellers · New Arrivals · Birthstones · Initials · Toi et Moi · Necklaces · Earrings · Rings · Bracelets · Jewelry Sets · Lifestyle & Accessories · Gifts For Her · Wedding · Birthday · Limited Edition · Vintage Finds · Sample Sale.
The caveat, stated up front so this is not overclaimed: she is not absent from the birthday trigger. She has a Birthday collection and a Birthstones axis, which is a birthday-adjacent organising principle.
But: no zodiac axis. No birth-flower axis. And no organisation by birth month anywhere — her birthday route is by stone, and stones are a single product family, not a grid.
60 of our 88 products are birthday-triggered — 36 zodiac and 24 birth flower. That is 68% of the catalogue answering one buyer on one trigger. Right now we split them into separate zodiac and birth-flower structures, which asks the buyer to already know which axis she wants.
A buyer shopping for an October birthday wants the Libra coin and the marigold necklace. Those are the same person, the same moment, and the same search intent, and nothing in our structure puts them together.
A 1,000-SKU catalogue cannot be organised this way. Twelve coherent month destinations require most of your catalogue to be birthday-shaped. Ours is. Hers is not. This is an advantage of being narrow.
Our own hypothesis, not borrowed practice. Pinterest publishes nothing about month-grid organisation and no competitor we inspected does it. How to test it, cheaply: a parallel session is auditing the month-grid question now. Build one month destination for October — Libra plus marigold on a single board — and compare its saves and outbound clicks per 1,000 impressions against the separate Libra and birth-flower boards over the same window. One board, no new credits beyond pins we were making anyway. If it does not beat the split, drop it and say so.
On the name ring I opened, personalization is a plain text field labelled "Your text here (case sensitive)". There is no preview language anywhere in the page copy and no rendered engraving preview I could find. The buyer types her daughter's name and hopes.
Honest limit: that is one product page on one visit. I am not claiming she has no preview anywhere in her catalogue. What I can say is that the flagship personalized product I checked does not show one and does not mention one.
Our product pages render the customer's actual name or date on the actual piece before she buys, with custom code, unique per personalized item. It is a locked part of our build and it is genuinely uncommon.
| Phrase | Mentions |
|---|---|
| "personalized" | 66 |
| "custom" | 19 |
| "preview" | 0 |
| "see your", "before you buy", "before checkout" | 0 |
Our single clearest differentiator over the market leader appears zero times in our pin copy. We say "personalized" 66 times, which every competitor also says, and we never once say the thing only we do.
This is the cheapest win in the entire programme. It costs no credits — it is a sentence in the description template, and it goes into the copy sheet before anything is created. Suggested line, compliant with the locked phrasing: "Preview your engraving before you order."
At her volume, copy has to be templated. We can anchor every single pin to a specific validated keyword from our own eRank bank. That is a benefit of being small rather than a consolation for it.
But we are not doing it yet. Measured tonight: 52 of 77 pin titles (67%) contain one of the 99 keywords in our bank with 100+ average monthly searches and known competition. 33% carry no validated term at all.
The claim only becomes an advantage at 100%, and the rubric already enforces it: every pin's per-pin card must name its target keyword with searches, competition and difficulty before the pin is created. Tier 2 — Tailwind names complete, distinct metadata as its strongest predictor of a high-traffic pin.
We have 261 of 261 items ingesting daily with zero errors and Verified Merchant cleared, which Ana Luisa at 1.1m monthly views does not have. That is genuinely good plumbing.
It is not an advantage over her. Her catalogue is far larger and presents cleanly. Being clean does not beat being big; it just means we have no liability here. Clean and small is still small.
She has zero empty boards. We have four. Fixing ours gets us level. Our season clock currently runs backwards, with every out-of-season sign pinned and Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn empty; fixing that gets us to competent.
Both are necessary and neither is an edge. Calling housekeeping a strategy is how a plan starts lying to itself.
Parity on execution, advantage on structure.
Copy her board discipline, her four-part description, her keyword-led titles and her zero-empty-boards rule — all demonstrably working, all adopted. Then win on the two things a focused, birthday-shaped catalogue can do that a broad one cannot: organise by the buyer's month rather than by our product taxonomy, and say out loud that she can see her engraving before she buys.
Of those two, the preview line is proven-differentiator and free. The month grid is our own hypothesis and gets one cheap test before it earns any more credits. If the test fails, we drop it and the honest answer becomes patient execution — which would still be the right answer, just a less interesting one.
Yes. One thing, and it is not a Pinterest feature — it is a lane we are not using.
The plan spends 290 credits to improve 290 pins. Our automatic catalogue produces roughly 2,844 pins and earns 4,760 of our 5,275 impressions. Improving those costs zero credits, and we have never done it because one question has gone unanswered since 6 August.
Which Shopify field lands in the Pinterest catalogue description? Pinterest publishes no field mapping for the Shopify app and says nothing about metafields. I searched again tonight and it is still not documented anywhere public. It has been logged as an open question since 6 Aug and never resolved.
It matters because the catalogue description is the field Pinterest reads for relevance on the 2,844 pins that are actually earning our impressions. Right now those pins carry whatever Shopify happened to send. Our four-part formula is not in them.
It is answerable in about fifteen minutes and costs nothing: change one product's Shopify description to a marked string, wait for the daily ingest, then read that product's catalogue entry and see whether the marker appears. One product, one day, no credits, and it unlocks a lever roughly ten times larger than the credit budget.
Pinterest states plainly: "We'll create a new pin for every additional image link", up to 10 per product, through the additional_image_link catalogue field. That is Pinterest-sanctioned pin multiplication driven entirely by the Shopify feed. It needs no credits, no Tailwind, and no Pinterest API token — which matters because our token is dead.
Our own notes closed this as "already satisfied" on arithmetic: 2,844 pins divided by 261 items is 10.9, against a maximum of 11. But the same note concedes 261 × 9.4 is about 2,448, which does not close to 2,844. Nobody has actually looked at the automatic catalogue board. One visual check settles it.
Pinterest Engineering published its production Model Context Protocol work in April 2026, and there are open-source Pinterest MCP servers on GitHub. I looked because our Pinterest API is dead and an MCP route would be a way around it.
It is not. Pinterest's own MCP servers are internal engineering tools — Presto, Spark, Airflow — not a merchant surface. The open-source ones are thin wrappers over the Pinterest API v5, which is exactly the thing that is dead for us: our app is Trial tier with no write scopes, and re-authorising does not change that. An MCP wrapper around a dead API is still a dead API.
Worth recording so no future session spends an evening rediscovering it.
Business Assistant, Performance+ creative upgrades, Top of Search ads, a brand-exclusive gallery that auto-groups catalogue products, and new native integrations for Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Adobe Commerce.
Relevance to us: near zero. Every one of them is either an ads product or an enterprise platform integration. We are on Shopify, we are not spending on ads, and the $100 ad credit is still gated behind proving the conversion tag fires. Nothing here changes the plan.
The current crop of "Pinterest algorithm 2026" articles converges on a handful of claims. They are worth naming because they sound authoritative and they contradict Pinterest's own documentation.
| Claim | Verdict |
|---|---|
| "60 to 70% of your pins should be vertical video / Idea Pins" | Folklore. Pinterest says images and videos are shared evenly, and organic Idea Pins no longer exist — a tell that the article is recycled |
| "Don't pin more than 50 a day" | Folklore. Pinterest states there is no limit |
| "Reach is limited above 10 boards" and "wait 2 days before re-pinning to a board" | Folklore. No primary source. Our own 7-day link spacing is stricter anyway |
| "Rich Pins get 40% more clicks" | Unsourced. Repeated widely, traced to nothing |
| "Businesses pinning weekly get 3.8× the impressions of monthly" | Unsourced in the articles carrying it. Pinterest does separately recommend weekly originals, which is the defensible half |
| "2 to 5 fresh pins a day" | Consistent with Tailwind's own band, and with our planned 3.3 |
The one place the blogs and the primary sources agree is cadence, and our plan already sits inside it. Nothing else in that literature changes a line.
Both its documents are on disk and its audit page is live. I have read them and reconciled. Every headline number matches what I computed independently — 55 zero-pin products, 24 ring products with one pinned, 8 images with baked-in text, five products holding about half the queue, the inverted season.
Four of our documents state that the automatic catalogue produced "3 of our 4" or "all 4" outbound clicks, and the whole catalogue-first framing rests on it. None of them is supportable. The product-group table sums to 6 clicks against an account total of 4, and 7,120 impressions against 5,275 — the groups are nested, not separate.
Why it matters here: if the catalogue earned 4 of 4, hand-written pins are worthless. If it earned 3 of 4, hand-written pins are about 3.1× better per impression and the catalogue only looks dominant because it has nine times the reach. We do not know which. I am not going to pretend the 290-credit plan is validated by data we do not have. It is justified on principle — keyword-matched shelving, spread across the catalogue, correct season order — not on a click comparison we cannot make.
At four clicks a month, no measurement we run will settle it soon. Detecting a 50% effect needs roughly 52 clicks per side, which is about thirteen months per side at current volume. That is the honest constraint on the whole programme, and it argues for the free catalogue lane above rather than for more credits.
Computed tonight from the live queue: our descriptions average 458 characters and all 77 fall inside Caitlyn Minimalist's 420–550 band. Titles average 57 against her 40–60.
Three documents in the folder still carry a "rewrite the descriptions, they are too short" action. That is done and should be closed. Acting on it now would spend credits re-solving a solved problem — and because a scheduled pin cannot be edited, the only way to act on it is delete and recreate at two credits a pin.
Approve the 290-credit plan unchanged, and add two free checks to Phase 0: the catalogue description mapping test and a visual look at the automatic catalogue board. If the mapping works, we improve 2,844 pins for nothing while the 290 credits do their separate job.
